TravelswithElsa takes the pain out of planning a trip to Africa

Lion; safari, wild animals, South Africa

You want to go to Africa, but you want something other than an official tour? Do you want to travel on your own? Where do you start? What is there to see or do?

One of the services TravelswithElsa offers is planning such an independent tour. I send out a check sheet to give me a better idea of what you envisage:

* how many days you want to be away,

* how many people are in your group, and

* the cities and sights you want to see.

I delve deeper into

* how active you want to be,

* what type of accommodation you prefer, and

* make some suggestions for you to consider as well.

After agreeing on a broad outline, I work out the finer details.

Giraffe, Game reserve, Pilanesberg

If you feel confident about driving on the left-hand side of the road, I will offer helpful tips about local rules and driving habits! If you change your mind and want a full-time driver guide, TravelswithElsa is ready to help: Elsa, her brother, Johan, and his wife, Lina, are there for you!

I recently took stock of how many tours TravelswithElsa has planned and was surprised to see more than 30 in number - to South Africa, Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Namibia, Australia, New Zealand, France, Spain, Portugal, Greece, and eight countries in South America.

Wow! The world certainly is an oyster!

Didgeridoo, Australia

My planning service revolves mainly around Southern Africa, but, at the moment, I am planning a tour Down Under for Viking customers of mine.

Maori

I'm having a fine time reliving my tour in Australia and in New Zealand when I escorted a group of five friends. Lynda Jenkinson, an enthusiastic Kiwi and a friend of mine since 2003, showed us New Zealand from a local perspective.

HM Safaris

I also love planning trips to Tanzania, where my guides and friends, Gideon and Jeremiah, are always ready to receive us. And that is what TravelswithElsa is all about – the personal touch and meeting up with the local people wherever possible.

I can’t wait to see what adventures 2024 holds in store! Here is to a happy traveling year for everybody.

Footnote: Jeremiah is hoping to buy his own safari vehicle. If anyone can assist him, please get in touch with me for more information.
