T

ravel along the Highlands Meander through iconic small villages such as Dullstroom, housing artists and trout fishing enthusiasts, to reach the Panorama Route. panorama-route-kruger-park

The sight of the Three Rondawels situated at the Northern end of the Drakensberg will thrill you, while your first stop at God’s Window will offer you breathtaking views of the world’s third largest and biggest green canyon, the Blyde River Canyon. Further along the eastern slopes of the escarpment, is the natural wonder of Bourke’s Luck Potholes. The road leads through lush indigenous forested areas and the towns of Graskop and Hazyview to the Lowveld and the spectacular Kruger National Park.

Your safari begins as you wait at the entrance gate into the Kruger Park in the early morning hours.

The rays of the sun start lighting up the horizon, the call of the kingfisher echoes in the sky and the smell of dung and the African bush hits your nostrils. As you wind your way through the Park, there is the element of pleasant surprise as you round a corner and come face-to-face with an elephant, a lion strolling across the road, or a giraffe munching on the leaves of a tall tree alongside the road.

On your safari, you will encounter not only the large animals, plenty of impala and other buck, but also animals like the endearing warthogs, and a variety of beautiful birds, vultures, majestic eagles, and comical maribou storks and ground hornbills. You will enjoy having a meal on the banks of the Sabie River, perhaps with some naughty monkeys swinging in the branches, while you watch hippos at play or some animals come to drink water.

Altogether, an unforgettable experience!
